Survey the complete opening
Record width, projection and height with units, plus diagonals where relevant. Mark door swings, steps, handles, external equipment and the desired clear passage. Identify what is structural and what is only a decorative finish before assigning fixing positions. A remote quotation should not replace a required site survey.
Assign structural responsibility
Ask a suitably qualified local professional to assess supports, anchors and the relevant site loads. Do not select a foundation or anchor from a generic illustration. The agreed configuration should cover attached accessories and the manufacturer’s required weather positions.
Trace every water outlet
Follow the water from the blades to the gutter, through the intended outlet and onto the site drainage. Check connections and access for clearing debris. A closed louver roof does not automatically create the sealed interior conditions of an enclosed building.
Plan electrical access and commissioning
Confirm the specified supply, cable routes and the scope of electrical work with the installer. Keep controllers and service access reachable. During handover, demonstrate travel limits, normal operation, sensor behavior and the documented response to power loss. Electrical installation must follow the applicable local requirements.
